Course Information

This half-day course is designed to introduce delegates to the concepts and functionality of SDS ProVal LS.

Delegates will be taught how to use ProVal LS efficiently and confidently by creating an appraisal for a straightforward development scheme.

Pre-requisites

Those attending this course should have a basic understanding of development and of the appraisal process, and be comfortable with using a mouse.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

• Understand the layout of the application
• Understand how defaults are used in ProVal LS
• Create a simple appraisal
• Understand the key input and outputs
• Save and print the appraisal

• Understand how template defaults and unit type defaults are used to create an appraisal (NB. setting defaults and other administrative functions are not covered in this course)
• Overview of the appraisal process
• How to log in to the application
• Viewing options
• Understand the Project Tree
• Start a new appraisal
• Enter initial data
• Set Milestones
• Add units to the appraisal from the library
• Understand the different ways of entering the data
• Input unit attributes and other unit data
• Copy and paste options
• Input scheme costs and understand how these combine with unit inputs
• Create a development cashflow
• Understand the private finance repayment options
• Review inflation parameters
• Review long term cashflow results
• Review Product Type (tenure) results
• Review unit results
• Identify and review Errors, Validation warnings
• How to add user comments to the data
• Viewing and printing Reports
